I willingly went down this rabbit hole because of all the years I have spent in therapy and my opinions of that process. Most of it was a waste of time with the benefits proving to be few and far between, although to be fair, there were some.

The difficulty I have personally understanding this mindset is no doubt due to my own ambivalence. As far back as I can recall, I typically understood and even accepted aspects of viewpoints different from my own. Even when reflecting on my core values, part of my thought process invariably asked, "but what about this or that or the other?" What we call absolutes have exceptions, yes?

Obviously thinking like this has its own issues, like making it difficult to 100% commit to anything without some nagging doubts. But better that than absolute conviction, at least in my opinion. I think...
