It's really hard to say, I usually count FT harder to read and predict than anyone else, even ranagrande, and rana pulled a total mindscrew on me last game, and beet's pretty hard to read too, but yes, I consider so open a move improbable, the only reason it gains much traction for me at all is that there's a tendency for the scum to make a big play on dawn of day 2, plenty of day 1 time to think and not know what your allies have, the first night in my experience is always the most talkative night. But as I said, while I consider it a realistic probability one one or two of them is scum, this is really more about peculiarities, townies generate them pretty regularly too, I tend to see that more from all the time as a scummer.




Whether or not Kronin or any other mod assigns roles and characters randomly is fairly irrelevant, you can't tell anyway so one may as well assume it is, that was not the target I was aiming at. We do not know at this time who is what, we know what people have said they are, and there's a long list of times where players have lied about things on day 1, town or scum, more town than scum I think. It doesn't even have to be beet or DK, someone might have lied about being male. Beet's both the most and least suspect by asking the question, you don't ask and answer first unless you're asking the question with the intent to lie, because you've a strong certainty you should. I might do something like that on day 1 to signal allies they should lie too, but generally something like gender you wouldn't lie about unless you were very sure it was a good idea. Getting your pronoun dropped by the mod, even on accident, is just too likely, very easy when writing flavor to slip up and put a he or she instead of they, or even the wrong one when character doesn't match player. But Beet has something of a gambler's style so I wouldn't rule it out, and I would point out that he clearly does think gender is important, or he wouldn't have presented his theory that one of the female characters is scum, would he?




One of a number of possibilities, FT can explain it himself but I can think of a number of options from the mundane to the sinister. It seems improbable beet's interaction answer was unrelated, it's in the post title and only a day and change prior to FT's post, I doubt he missed it, if my Character's name were in a post title I'm fairly confident I'd react somehow.





it was a question FT proposed, one of the 10 Random Ones it struck me as so out of left field that I figured there was a good chance it wasn't, with his claim I pondered if maybe he got flavor indicating enmity to Homer for tormenting him in the Odyssey or something. Most probable scenario is it was just a question that came to mind and we'd done most of the obvious ones, but I always like to consider anything abnormal from the standpoint that it was intentional too and ask what might motivate it, minimizes the number of knives in the back I get, though generally my deaths in-game involve being torn apart by wild animals.




He also proposed everyone else do it and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't tempting, but I rejected the notion because I know my character, not everyone else's, and it could be important. In point of fact, while we often say flavor isn't too revealing this has generally not been the case, it has usually been very important just non-obvious and often occluded by DF manipulation or lies.




Depends on how you read the Odyssey, I'd be fairly worried if I were Odysseus and beet had dropped that info though, not 'kill, die, lynch' worried, but worried, and considering he's backing Beet's theory and definitely added to the villainous interpretation of many women in Greek mythology I would assume that indicates he'd be somewhat 'concerned' about any female character who he's interacted with.




Meh, I don't particularly suspect FT, my comments seem weighted to imply that because he's connected to so much of it, which is why I pointed out I was lobbing any questions his way, apparent alliances don't mean someone isn't scum, it's pretty standard practice to try to connect yourself to someone who is a townie so you can drag down someone with you. Again, this is 'something is afoot', not a FOS, it only take ones of them being up to something to generate shadows, and any one of those could be utterly coincidental, or all of them, even if some are true some are likely not.



I can't see any reason for the primacy on DK. I haven't seen anything she's done thats truck me as scummy, but like I said, if she's forced to reveal who she is, realistically beet will have to as well, unless her reveal just screams 'kill me!' for some reason. His whole argument basically amounts to 'kill the more evil girl' so I can't see us being too likely to cut her head off without finding out who he is too. We can pursue both at once, sooner's better, minimizes time to make something up that meets prior answers.
