It's entirely possible that one or more people are waiting until tomorrow to dispute their claim- I could see a cop wanting to wait one more day to reveal himself.


Honestly, I feel that if I lied and the real cop would be waiting a day to claim, he would deserve being lynched right then and there. At that point, not only did he lie but he prevented us from lynching a perfectly suitable, and undeniably evil, candidate (i.e. me, if I was scum). It would be terribly worth it to come out with it when asked and not a day later. And then again, who would everyone believe? The person who claimed cop and everyone spent an entire day trusting or the guy who switches his role after all this time elapsed? No, I would not trust anyone who claims cop tomorrow. Not for a heartbeat. And that's not just because I am the cop.
