I just searched ? with the keyword 'vanilla', seemed the fastest way to check that assertion, it only gave back 7 hits so I read them all real quick. The funny thing is the one that made my me do a double take wasn't even a genuine hit, 'vanilla' appeared only as remnant text, my own actually, in an otherwise NM message. Look here, the vanilla usage is, as mentioned, merely me being quoted discussing sometihng, but what he said was that he 'protected himself' and I remembered that because I've been thinking about doc's who can do that of late, as you know, and that at least once it had been a lie by a scummer.

To remind people of the details, and you can perform this search I did to see it, in FT's game a few games back ? had claimed vanilla, this is when we did encryption for the first time, then later claimed doc when it was clear our three people who went to find treasure all game back with some role-power item, he was asked what he was up to and said he'd protected himself, we later lynched him, he was our SK, we'd already gotten our three mafia guys. He'd gotten away with the doc claim for a while because we'd given him leeway as a newplayer that he might think that a player with an item was vanilla, not a doc, and went over in detail all the stuff about vanilla including not claiming it when avoidable. Of course, he didn't need that lecture, he'd been a SK fromt he item, not a doc. As a quick sidenote I'd comment to beet that this is one of the reason why I feel justified being skeptical of doc claims, not just Fox's from last game. I'm sure you, Rana, remember this post and incident, you voted for ? right after that.

Now for the other 'vanilla' usages, the most recent was his vote for DK, not his actual vanilla claim, as he never said vanilla just no powers, then back in march essentially unrelated, from last game, here's the reference to what rana mentioned from last game, and comes in reply to rana saying of ? "?: Already has one vote, from Yunalesca, and voted for her in return. He has kept his vote on Yuna, even when he called out Fox and Ravens for lying. Has claimed vanilla. I'm sure we've gone over the dangers of roleclaiming before in games that he's been in, but he seemed to be unaware when he made his claim." He also didn't say vanilla when he claimed that time either, next use before that is again 'vanilla' being in the quotes from me, then the same thing actually, then the same again as the 'I protected myself" comment, then the original one, in game 19, when he a SK who later claimed doc decyrpted a message saying he was vanilla.

That's all just general coverage but the big notes are that he has directly be warned about unsolicited vanilla claims before, and definitely saw them and replied to those warnings, he has also previously used vanilla as a false claim. That last is fairly irrelevant in of itself, though significant to me as a reminder that I've good reason to distrust doc claims, opposed or not, what's telling is that virtually every time vanilla appeared in one of ?'s message it's because he was either false claiming it and/or being warned about not claiming vanilla out of a blue sky, and/or acknowledging quite clearly that he shouldn't have claimed vanilla like that. So there's basically zero chance he claimed vanilla above unaware or having 'just forgot' that we frown on unsolicited vanilla claims. That to me removes any legitimate excuse I might have been willing to extend over that, he almost certainly knew he was doing something anti-town by doing.
