It's easy to remember what's from where: Asterix is French, as is Moebius/Jean Giraud's stuff. Just about every other BD that's famous is Belgian (although admittedly Asterix' scenarist, Goscinny, wrote the best Lucky Luke's, so you could call those semi-French).
