I utterly believe everything you said there, it would be true regardless of your alignment. The thing is 'bussing' for 'throw them under the bus' is something that comes intuitively to the cunning and is just the term for it, we did it before knowing the term. It's not a complex concept, my ally is probably going to die, I will make myself look more innocent by voting for him. FT and I did it to our ally and the Game Founder back in game 4, his first time as scum and my second, so I know it doesn't take a lot of experience to develop the concept, and IIRC the structure of the occasion didn't allow us to discuss it, we both enacted it without consultation, so no particular epiphany is required.

There is a bit of a learning curve, even though all the concepts of treachery we use are pretty much soaked in from normal life, but this one isn't too hard. But it probably does need a prod, had Ranagrande voted for you first and you were allies, that would be more than sufficient, but you voted for him about two weeks earlier so that theory is out. In fact that early vote would almost make you seem more innocent as a new player, except I don't find it too hard to believe a newer player might decide to vote for an ally early in the game, we had that happen back in the day too.

I am inclined to believe you about not being in cahoots with him, but not for the reasons you list, which as mentioned I am sure are true. Rather it's just that my theory revolves around Rana taking action because he was near death, and the problem is he could have gotten out of that lynch simply by posting a few times. I don't rule it out, and of course there's at least a 1 in 8 chance you're his ally anyway, but I feel the sum of possibilities makes the event essentially neutral, neither more nor less likely to be scum because of the accusation.
