I'm thinking more about how DFs have traditionally acted during hypocops, the temptation tends to be to either name a non DF innocent, or name one of their allies innocent or guilty. Calling your fellow DFs innocent is probably the default thought, but calling them guilty, when you will later not RC as a cop, does little damage and gives something to point to later.

We should assume the DFs already made a plan for hypcopping last night. I seriously doubt, with nothing else to prep for besides deciding who to kill, they would have bypassed that option.

Let's assume a good chance they actually picked their hypocop strategy last night, and that in the face of the 'usual suspects' option, some, most, or all continued on with the planned tactic.
