The illusion of reality was much stronger when I was looking at the CG stuff through the glasses; every time I took the glasses off to look, it just wasn't as real seeming. And when I saw it without the 3D effects, it just wasn't as thrilling (though the movie is quite beautiful to look at).

The quality of the picture is significantly decreased, it makes computer animation look even less realistic, and the glasses give several people (myself included) very annoying headaches. It's another stupid gimmick that replaces plot, meaningful characters, and thematic content, all of which are increasingly being relegated to "art movie" status.

This is why I hate Hollywood.
