Oh and also, I think you're off with the death metaphor.

Death is very different from silence.


The one that comes to mind immediately is at the end of Hamlet that I quoted before, but I am pretty sure that there are others. But because of the crazy voice, I think there's probably more to it than just a poetical way of describing the death of the universe. We'll see.
