Amy's aunt is never around. If she exists, why is she never around? Could Amy's aunt be a time traveler, who leaves and reappears at any time? If there is no aunt, could little Amelia Pond have been a time traveler?

Now here's the part that really proves I'm a nutter. Could Amy's aunt be ... River Song? Could Amy's aunt be ... grown up Amy? Could Amy's aunt be ... the Doctor using a perception filter? Okay, that last one is weird.

Could little Amelia Pond be the Doctor and River's daughter? Probably not, but still. River doesn't really react when she sees Amy, does she? I can't remember, and I'm not going to have a chance to check the episodes until after work tonight, but I'm pretty sure that she barely even acknowledges Amy's presence both times they meet.
