There's a reason people who didn't see the first three until after the new ones came out don't understand the prequel hate; it's called "not having nostalgia."

But it gets overshadowed by some terrible writing, which cannot be overcome by the actors. "Anakin, you're breaking my heart" is the worst that comes to mind right now.
Episode III could have been so good. The story is epic. It is very powerful in places. But the writing just kills me, and I'm usually very accepting of stuff like that. When you have such a good story, you need to realize that if your writing isn't up to dialogue work then you need to bring someone in. All three prequels suffered because of Lucas' ego.
That is just my opinion though. I'm glad people enjoy them. I just wish I could.
