The only reason I made the anti-LCD/LED remark was because the op was crediting the SOA to HBO and the filmakers, instead of the makers of the TV. To each his own, but if you are going to forsake HD because your friend has his motion smoothing settings cranked, then I want you to know that there are alternatives.
I think most people are completely lost in todays retail TV world. And stores showing landscape scenes on LCD/LED TV's with the brightness turned up are really suckering a lot of people into thinking there is something inherently wrong with HD when they get home and watch their favorite episode of The Office. I tried to avoid the technical aspect of the conversation because it turns off most of the people and just sum it up into one word. I just gotta find a better word than POOPY because it seems to really have sparked some emotions around here.
