I may have some details wrong, but I'm pretty sure as far as Joff is concerned, Robert is his father. Joff tries to emulate Robert and wants to be like his father. Now consider how Robert treats Cersi....

Joff is just treating women like his father does. Add in the influence of Cersi's political scheming and manipulation, and you end up with one wretched Joff.
