I saw all of the first season and I think most of the second, but didn't see much else of it until I was sort of force fed the final 10 episodes or so... I can see why people liked it I guess, but I really was kinda, well, yeah, lost watching the end of the series. One of these days, I'll go back and watch it all marathon style. Perhaps I'll love it.

As to Firefly, I do think it could have retained at least the level of quality it showed for its season one. Actually, I think it would have improved, knowing how Whedon's shows only get better the further into the story you get.

Star Trek Deep Space Nine.
X-Files (minus a season or two).
Six Feet Under.
Alias.

Honorable mentions to funny stuff like Extras, The Simpsons, Friends, Frasier and Seinfeld because I can watch those reruns over and over and will always laugh my ass off.
And to Breaking Bad, which can still fuck up in their last season but probably easily makes it into the top five because it's just about the best written and filmed show on TV right now.
And to Firefly, which was fun while it lasted but wouldn't have been able to keep that top level.
A lot of great shows are still running or just started, but I'll leave those out for now.
Death to the Regressives of the GOP and the TeaParty. No mercy for Conservatives. Burn them all at the stake for the hateful satanists they are.
