"If the bad guy has all the stones and still loses, how heroic were the heroes?"
I would say that the heroic underdogs were pretty heroic then.
If there is something to admire, it should be admired. What is heroic about jumping on the bandwagon of the side with all the advantages, as Jake Sully apparently did, in pursuit of poontang?
All the advantages huh? Like superior firepower? Armor? Technology? Military training and tactics? I cannot fathom the place from where you get the idea that the humans are the underdogs here. Who are the aggressors? Oh that's right, it was just a pre-emptive strike to protect themselves. I would think we've seen enough pre-emtive strikes in the real world to know that one thing they're not is a defensive reaction made by desperate people.
Poontang? I'm sure my young hormone riddled nephew knew there was more depth to Sully's decision than sex. Im not sure what that says about you that you think he did what he did for a piece of alien ass, but Im sure it's not good. Are you diagnosed with anything "special"? Besides the whole depth perception thing I mean.

and of course you would find a way to praise and admire the evil mass murderer in the movie...

Avatar is basically Return of the Jedi, at least the part on Endor. But less militarily plausible

Predictable with a tired & preachy plot. (spoilers) Also, the ending was completely ludicrous.
