I can't say they really took the consequences of the massive change they forced on the Doctor in the last episode, but I suppose that is a good thing (albeit inconsistent).
I prefer the Doctor a little vulnerable rather than power-mad (though I still think the fear of death is rather out of character). But I can't say I am looking forward to the 1st of January. It is just wrong to kill him off.
