... So, the master played a rather big role. Tennant's doctor was a bit wussy, but I suppose that is better than "invincible"... I really really get annoyed with Donna, her gramps is better, though. I don't know about the cactus people...
I really do enjoy Simm's Master, I think it is the best portrayal of the character. It's interesting that in the voice over The Doctor is described as being the Master's saviour.
I assume that the cactus people will play some part in the second episode as so far there was no real need for them to be there, The Doctor could have figured it all out for himself.
As for Donna, her oblivious persona is meant to be annoying, but I quite like her knowledgeable version which it looks like we are going to get to see.
As for Wilf, I reckon he is a Time Lord. Just with the Doctor pointing out how unusual it is for Wilf to be able to find him and the conversation he had with the woman were she referred to him fighting in a war and not killing a man, I reckon he is a time lord who repressed himself (ala The Doctor and Master a couple of seasons ago) and has failed to revert to a Time Lord (hence not being able to kill a man - Wilf)
as for the megahumungous spoiler thing in the end and the narrator... I was a bit surprised, actually. I wonder how they will kill them all off. Looks to be an interesting episode the first with both the on screen stuff and this.
I reckon it will come down to a choice between saving the Earth (and possably all of Time) or saving Gallafrey.
Anyone else's first impressions? I wanted to keep the OP relatively spoiler free, but feel free to spoil it if you want to.
I wonder will we see The Doctor regenerate at the end of this story or will it be at the beginning of the next season

I'm glad we got so much of The Master - John Sim is a pretty wonderful actor. (some slight spoilers)

Unless explicitly stated, we assume the simplest explanation - one heart. And human(oid).

I always thought it was more a function of the series' budget restrictions.
