With the Breaking, locations were always changing, so Traveling from a point might have been difficult at best. I think there is a comment about trying to Travel from the deck of a ship as being hard to do. With the chaos, Skimming might have been the preferable means, but who knows what the gateway on the other end might have meant?
And what of the male channelers nuking everything in sight? How many Aes Sedai survived the Breaking?


And I don't think it was that chaotic that they couldn't stay in one place for an hour or two.

Although yes, they would never know just what was on the other side. But they could still teach and pass on the weave without actually using it.


However, I'll accept that it died out. Especially if I choose to believe that Ishamael actively tried to kill anyone with knowledge of the weave.
