No Elayne hopefully, but again it looks like Egwene has everything fall in her lap

1) Perrin has a slow start, but has an awesome finale. Taken with a grain of salt, of course, this being Jason. But it seems something out of the blue happens, which may be fun. "She" is not involved apparently. Does he mean Faile? OR Berelain? Perrin also has a lot of action, which if true, will be good.
If it ends with Perrin no longer whinging about being a Lord, Faile no longer being jealous all the time and him afraid of being wolf I'll be happy regardless of what he actually does.
4) Mat is awesome. And that's about all there is about him in the review.
Except he's more like old Mat - as chapter 8 has shown.
5) A last throwaway line says that the story begins with Rand walking down the mountain to have a long overdue chat with somebody. Obviously, this is Egwene, and I'm deeply peeved this is the first chapter.
If 'Dark' Rand is replaced by doormat Rand I'll be disappointed. Amyrlin or not, Egwene is still the leader of one of several chanelling groups, and should not be on a level footing with Rand. If he has to kiss her feet, figuratively, it'll be annoying - especially if he remembers everything about being Lews Therin - the last true leader of the Aes Sedai.
7) Elayne is barely mentioned. I won't be happy if she is sidelined.
Wooh, no Elayne, means less baths, silk dress selections and moaning about being pregnant. That's a major plus. Although I'd be happy to see Elayne if it's her being turned by 13x13, or screaming as Caemlyn is over run by trollocs.
Rand's suffered (lose of hand and vision), Mat is due to and Perrin has lost his family. It's good TOM is going to continue to be dark - though I'd like to see Egwene and/or Elayne really suffer. Gawyn dead, or one of them turned to the dark (and not a cheap turn back episode after), something that puts them on a footing with Rand, Mat and Perrin, for all their adventures, they've got off much easier - especially Egwene being handed the tower and the BA by the Seanchan and Verin.

Everyone seems to think Rand will talk to Egwene, but a male channeler also makes sense

After his COT review, a less then gushing review isn't great

But he is specifically trying to avoid being overly fanboyish BECAUSE of that CoT review. *NM*

Damn, his COT review was infinitely more enthusiastic. What could it all mean? *NM*

But his CoT review was also more enthusiastic than his KoD and TGS reviews *NM*

It's odd, I didn't see any reference to Rand descending from DM in his review.
