That pretty much leaves Semirhage acting on Moridin's orders or Moridin himself. Now that the part of my theory that Moridin was the one to order Semirhage to capture Rand is confirmed, I wonder if the second part, that Moridin sent the Trollocs not to kill Rand (not at all) but to decimate his highly dangerous inner circle before the capture attempt will prove right too
As you know I wrote a theory that it was Semirhage who sent the Trollocs. However, it seems that Moridin really doesn't want Rand harmed and that Rand's pain reflects on him. It would be a big risk for Moridin to try and kill the inner circle and NOT kill Rand with such a massive battle. To me it seems now that it was either an act of madness (Demandred, Cyndane) or a rogue act (?Be'lal, Fain, Taim).
