Just that it can't be happening all the time. So instead Sanderson just threw in the sentence he had to describing Mat's vision and then moved on. Nothing interesting going on, so he doesn't pause and continues on with the story.
It's just unavoidable. The times when the ta'veren think of each other can't always coincide with when the one they're thinking of is doing something amazing, or even something mundane but still worthy of comment.
