Elayne has the whole Kin with all their uber healers around her available for medical help. Not to mention all the other channelling buddies she has, like Nynaeve. It makes no sense given how powerful Healing is for her to die in childbirth.
Besides, she only about 5 months as of the end of ToM. The babies are supposed to be born strong and healthy, which means full term pregnancy or very close to it. The Last battle would most likely be over by then, given Rand's plans to go to Shayol Ghul the next day and the Trolloc invasions everywhere.
