..position on the hip, and the skill or the person. Personally, I prefer an over the shoulder draw for almost everything but a rapier. Then again, I have really long arms. Knives are actually easier to draw from the same hip as the hand you will wield it with and unless there is some really nasty stuff gunked up in there, they rarely bind regardless of how floppy the sheath is.

There are several details in the painting that makes me wonder just how familiar the author is with swords. Callandor appears twisted (guard to tip) and there is no counterweight for the weapons on Rand's belt. Additionally, though the basic position/stance Rand is in is believable and the finger positioning of the grip is good, the grip itself is too tight for that position.

I am basically just Cannoling (congratulations, you are now a verb ) it now. I actually like the painting better than any of the other physical book releases.
