According to Moiraine men can show the spark as late as 30 ... In the range of Galad's current age ... The scene where he kills Valda has some interesting commentary that seems to be similar to a Channeler holding the Power. Of course he may be too old to be a Sparker, but his family line has at least some ability (shares a father with Elayne and a Mother with Rand) ... Would be a fun twist IMO if the CG of the WC turned out to be a Channeler.

Gawyn just has the genetic pedigree ... I don't recall a scene with him hinting at it though. But I always wonder when non-Channelers are romantically paired to Channelers how that will work. Nynaeve is in for a century of heartbreak getting over Lan (even assuming he lives through TG) ... And Egwene and Rand will be dealing with the same with their non-Channeler loves. Given how RJ built these emotional bonds out it seems sad to me that Gawyn will be an old man when Egwene is still a very young AS. Or that Nynaeve will live for hundreds of years without Lan.
