Pony. She is a pony. A loyal, goodnatured, overperforming and underappreciated pony. Joel Send a noteboard - 15/01/2013 08:32:21 AM
All she does from the first pages of the series to the last is calmly, sturdily and sweetly bear the burdens and save the lives of people who invariably belittle her until she wildly exceeds their expectations (in Siuans case, even then.) Yet even exceeding the speeds of Olvers beloved champion race horse is not enough to prevent her being chopped up by Trollocs just to make the readers feel bad. Pity it could not have been Olver, defiantly telling us how brave and fearsome he is as he sneaks away crying (while I can appreciate the plight of a child in that situation, I would be a lot more sympathetic were he not constantly telling us what a resolute warrior he is in between his racist commentary and plots against Aiel.)

You just hit on probably the major structural weakness of the series with respect to characters. - 15/01/2013 02:54:59 AM 908 Views
I think this is why I still enjoy Rand as a character so much - 15/01/2013 03:37:52 AM 869 Views

It was neck and neck with her and Min for a long while, but Min finally saw past her own nose. - 14/01/2013 02:09:13 PM 849 Views
I just added a sentence at the end to make the series end properly. - 14/01/2013 10:47:18 PM 931 Views

I did, too, at first, but "horse"=/="pony." - 15/01/2013 06:08:03 AM 755 Views
