Faile isn't a real person. She's a character created by Robert Jordan, and all of the situations that she is put into, she is put into by the writer. It's not like you can say, "Well, if you were Barack Obama, how would you have done something differently?"

The proper question is, "If you were Robert Jordan, how would you have written her differently?" I think that the answer is fairly clearly stated in this post and its responses, as well.
