I still don't think I'm that upset about her death (this isn't to say I didn't get sappy at the time; I totally had to blink a lot and open my eyes really wide to keep going at that point), I just didn't like the language used to present it. Does that even make sense? I get that she wasn't major, but even a quintuplinary character deserves more than "shit, I have to write at the speed of light and squidge this in!"

I have to wonder why BS is considered a Very Serious Writer when his forays into WoT are not much higher level than the first few HP novels. Maybe it's because the first 7 books of WoT had that RJ style that I find BS's style so ... immature? especially with aMoL, it seems like BS is just trying to push it out the door so he can get back to doing whatever it is he does. Who knows, maybe RJ actually wrote Bela's death into the story and BS couldn't figure out how to decipher what he was given
