View original postI've said on numerous occasions that the first six books were fun entertainment, and after that I read on just to see how the damn thing ended, which was very, very poorly.
Fair enough; I do not dispute that much (TGS was pretty good, but apparently the last gasp of quality writing in the series.) However, it does not make the whole series "worthless;" at least the first half had value, if only as entertainment. The pretense all resident literature snobs always knew Jordan far beneath them is just that: Pretentious. Were it true none would be here to express disgust for Jordan. If people want to call it a guilty pleasure, something they grew out of or whatever, fine, but to say it was always narratively barren is to say they devoted years of life to something narratively barren. "Who is the greater fool, the fool or the fool who follows him?"

Yes; he grew beyond "I can ignore the rules and everyone must obey me because I know best."

Because that's clearly Egwene's job, and there wasn't room for two of them in that relationship

Was her death not redemptive? Did she not admit Rand was right about the Seals?

Wow, you predicted a plot progression in a predictable and completely worthless series of books.
