Which is why it's dangerous. You only have to worry about resolving paradox if you worry about unmaking reality. Balefire doesn't try to resolve the paradox; that's why it's dangerous.
So it's not that the castle got blasted back a decade or two, thus Graendal was never there, thus Rand never sent the man in, thus he was never compelled.
It's: The castle was there, Rand sent the man in, and then balefired Graendal back a decade or two. There's no Compulsion, because Graendal no longer exists at the point in time the man went to the castle. Even though that's why he went to the castle.
There's no stable timeloops with balefire. It just unravels reality.
