But entire cities were obliterated by balefire in the AoL and its use was much more widespread at before it was 'banned'. Rand's obliteration of the palace was a much smaller scale, IMO. The power involved, I suppose, is an issue for concern. I don't view it as an atrocity in those terms because he didn't destroy the pattern - a potential atrocity only.
In Rand's mind, the only way to kill any of the Forsaken from now on is by using balefire. The DO has few enough weaknesses without exploiting this one. His not caring about the consequences is either measured or due to the fact he is using extreme measures in desperation.

Because, and I think this is the point Nynaeve and Cadsuane were making, if you took this whole approach to the Nth level, than you would accomplish what the Dark One wants to do.

I think she's the most deadly and intelligent. The others are idiots, IMHO.

Here's the deal, though. Semirhage actions actually followed part of the theory to a tee.

It's quite simple logic.

Still no answers. I think I'm correct in feeling she is alive. *NM*

I think she escaped, but it says something that he had to become worse than a Forsaken to do it

Thanks for reminding me. Oh well, then I'm stuck with the whole tearing apart the Pattern thing

I don't think it's acceptable to tear apart the Pattern to save it.
