Sanderson has stated that the Blight is filled with 10x as many Trollocs as can be supported by it (well, they might not be in the Blight, but it's a fair assumption to say they are).
It's entirely possible that the extended summer wasn't so much about ruining Randland, as it was about changing the climate in the Blight to be more suited to the Trollocs, so that it could support more.
Remember that the Dark One actually wants MORE time, not less. Rand is the one hurtling towards TG because he knows the seals are weakening. So I can't see the Dark One being that annoyed that the last battle was delayed.
