Don't tell anyone, but I actually like Egwene, and I really enjoyed her plotline in tGS. I just thought that it was a bit strange for her to take such a hard view of the BA hunters' actions and Elaida's proposal when she herself had begun to walk the same road.
She is too smart for the parallelism to be lost on her. She surely knew that these acts were similar to her own. BS could have had her reflect on the differences, even if only briefly.

Egwene should have reflected on the obvious similarity, if only to note that her blackmailing an Oath out of Sisters was unheard of, but using the Oath Rod to do it had potentially life threatening consequences. She also knows that the OR shortens life span, it's not that big of a leap to figure out that more Oaths = cutting off more years of life.
AS swearing fealty in affect demotes them to vassal status rather than what amounts to Royal status... which in the long run is bad for the Tower's politics. Egwene really should free the remaining Sisters who took Oath to her from those oaths... now that the Tower is reunified she has no need to continue with that course of action.
Domani Drag Queen in the White Tower ... Aran'gar watch out!
Egwene - hypocrite

It does NOT violate Tower Law, as Myrelle herself said, and Siuan admits.

No she was right, and even her blackmail, as reprehensible as that was, was not an act of tyranny
