If all other Forsaken, who took a risk, failed and suffered?
Even Moridin eventually - namely after three defeats and being killed - realized that he should better leave Rand alone for the moment (already before they became linked in the end of ACoS).

Therefore Demandred is arguably the smartest Forsaken, since he simply concentrates on his work (which will be revealed yet), and probably will be one of the few Forsaken still standing at TG, and (besides Moridin) the only one who didn't personally anger the DO yet.


about a character we've seen very little of! For all we know he could be the least intelligent too!

Graendal ended up dead without ever laying eyes on Rand, but at least she had the balls to make an effort

What I know about Demandred:

1. He's building an army somewhere
2. He hates LTT
3. He is well hidden, even from the other Forsaken
4. He has not taken a single open action of his own accord

Not all that inspired to believe that he's got anything beyond Talent for talking big and doing nothing!
