6 Aes Sedai cannot defeat Guare Amalasan or Yurian Stonebow. Those Aes Sedai were likely stronger than today's sisters, but even if they weren't, that means you need at least 7 Aes Sedai to defeat a man of that strength. Elayne's maximum potential is about 2.5 average sisters, going by the Amys plus Melaine comparison, but even if she's as strong as 3 sisters, it means she would have to link with 4 more sisters to have a chance of defeating Taim.


How do you know that it was an issue of strength alone? What about that fact that Amalasan was fighting to kill whereas the Aes Sedai were trying to capture? What about the advantage men enjoy that they can sense women channeling? How about the fact that you seemingly need to be much stronger to shield a male?

I'm not for a moment suggesting that Elayne's circle could shield all three men if they were holding saidin. But that hardly means they do not match the strength of these men. With the advantages of the circle, Elayne may well have been able to cause a lot more destruction than Taim and his cronies.
