Cyndane/Moggy/Graendal it all amounts to the same in the end darius_sedai Send a noteboard - 15/01/2010 05:57:10 PM
I'd say it's easier to explain that a channeler taught Elza a few tricks (maybe in TAR where she couldn't remove the Compulsion) ... than have some convoluted new SH power...

We know the Shadow can muck around with its minions' minds - look at what was done to Fain, for example. I'd say that was much more complex than what I suggested was done to Elza.

As for your TAR idea to explain why the Compulsion wasn't removed ... I could buy that. If that were the case, though, then it seems more likely that it would have been Cyndane or Moggy who taught the weaves, rather than Graendal. Presumably, SH could have rounded up one of Moridin's pets more quickly than Graendal. And even if it was Graendal, I wouldn't consider that as direct involvement in what happened to Semirhage. This idea is more of an incidental involvement - the weave-teacher (Graendal or whoever) likely had no idea (and wouldn't have been told) what was being planned for Semirhage, even if she knew that Elza was in the same camp as Semirhage.

I think it's likely someone was involved in teaching a few weaves at the instruction of SH or Moridin, but the more I think about it the more I think that person was probably never even present in the manor.

I think that person was most likely Graendal only because of the Compulsion element and her proximity, and her instructions from Moridin were in-line with this situation. IMO Graendal probably discovered Elza's Compulsion when teaching her, told SH about it and moved on to other projects.

that's your interpretation of the quote - 15/01/2010 05:58:30 PM 718 Views
This and the others quotes suggest that only SH and Elza were involved *NM* - 16/01/2010 09:51:24 AM 277 Views
