Re: In the same scene Shishka Send a noteboard - 01/02/2010 07:16:56 PM
Moridin also tries to tempt Rand again by saying that the DO could heal his madness or resurrect Ilyena. Therefore I definitely think that Moridin tries to make Rand a bit more trusting here (even if this fails; though Rand doesn't attack Moridin at least).

Yes, he tried to tempt Rand to convert to the Shadow (yet again), but that's just his modis operandi. I don't think he was trying to get Rand to trust him. I really doubt that any schemes Moridin has up his sleave hinge on Rand trusting him.

Moridin states in this scene that he believes that the DO win end everything, if he wins.

Yeah, so he wouldn't care about the transmigration issue. Presumably the other Forsaken would be unhappy to know that Moridin had revealed that info, since they are under the delusion that there will be life after TG, if the DO wins.

On the other hand, he might even consider that this would harm Rand as well, because of their link.

Yeah, but he's not ready to sacrifice himself for the cause, yet. Otherwise, he wouldn't care if one of the other Forsaken harmed/killed Rand, it seems to me.

But of course, he likely wouldn't really care if Rand balefires the other Forsaken, since they are competitors.

Competitors for what, exactly? As you noted, Moridin thinks the DO's victory will end EVERYTHING, so there is nothing to compete for.

I don't think he views any of the other Chosen as competition, I think he views them as tools, just as the DO does, presumably.

However, that Rand & Co. might lose their constraints to use balefire might be good for the Shadow.

Perhaps, but I'm just not sure "BF use by the Light" outweighs "Chosen deaths", at this point in the game. Whereas, I can see how "Rand TP use" outweighs "Semirhage death", in terms of benefit to the Shadow.
Rise and fall, turn the Wheel,
'cause all life is
is really just a circle.

Moridin probably just wanted the access key to prevent the Cleansing - 02/02/2010 10:26:11 AM 7124 Views
no reason to take the tool that allowed Rand to Cleanse saidin? - 02/02/2010 01:34:59 PM 704 Views
We don't even know if SH knew about the access key in the box - 02/02/2010 02:09:32 PM 638 Views
So the DO's Hand doesn't know about the AK? And we have a quote with Elza's orders where? - 02/02/2010 02:14:58 PM 651 Views
If Elza had the order to take the access key, she would have taken it - 02/02/2010 02:29:08 PM 664 Views
