Kari al' Thor Gerbeaud Send a noteboard - 03/03/2010 10:09:10 PM
At the end of the EotW when Rand confronts Ba'alzamon, Ba'alzamon produces Kari al'Thor to taunt Rand.

Kari al'Thor says: "The Lord of the Grave is stronger than he once was my son. His reach is longer. The Father of Lies has a honeyed tongue for unwary souls. My son. My only, darling son. I would spare you if I could, but he is my mster, now, his whim, the law of my existence. I can but obey him, and grovel for his favor. Ony you can free me. Please, my son. Please help me. Help me. Help me! PLEASE!"

Did the DO "with his honeyed tongue" turn Kari al'Thor to the darkside? If so, what could he have promised her? Or did he snatch her soul when she died?

Or did Ba'alzamon create the illusion of Rand's mother to torment him in the hopes of turning Rand?

Personally I think it is the later. What do others think?

Well, I thought that Rand wrenched control of the illusion from Ishamael... Fanatic-Templar - 04/03/2010 07:09:06 PM 986 Views

For the record I agree with your theory. Gher - 07/03/2010 06:26:45 AM 915 Views
I just thought that Ishamael manipulated T'A'R to trap Rand in a dream based on Rand's thoughts. RugbyPlayingAshaman - 04/03/2010 06:04:22 PM 976 Views
