Trying to decide if I'm going to re-read it, but it seems most of the talk is about the translation and if someone is going to read it. Anything really to say about the actual story and any themes it might have?
Is this theme about the difficulties of communication with alien life forms a recurring theme in his other books? If so I don't think I would read anything else by him, but if not and he touches on other themes then I would probably consider picking something else up by him. Just curious.
His Master's Voice is entirely focused on that question, and it is a very important part of Perfect Vacuum as well, at least in one of the fictional books he writes about.
