I would agree that Harry Potter is not worth the huge response it received...but on the other hand, it was. It brought childhood to life again. For some people, that's a waste of time, or bad, but for others it brings their adulthood to life again. A book that both parties can enjoy brings families together. In these lights, HP was worth its weight in silver (probably not gold
)
But from a literary stand point, yes. It's definitely not on par with Jordan or similarly classed authors. But then again, it wasn't meant to be either.
