I'm not saying he doesn't write stupid things from time to time. The point is that nothing he has written justifies the absolute hatred that people have of him.

Will Ferrell probably hasn't really done anything to justify it, but dear god I feel my gorge rise whenever I see a movie trailer with him in it.

We've all got our "I hate that stupid f'ing actor/author" thing going. Usually we realize on some level that it's pretty irrational. Doesn't really matter in the long run.

And in Dan Brown's case, he's such a "popular" author that his haters just get even more enraged at his popularity. It's a case of "how the HELL can so many of you people like this crap that I hate?!?!?"
