Books are, on the whole, going to go the way of vinyl records. Just as audiophiles continue to buy vinyl because of certain varying aesthetics, bibliophiles will continue to buy books. Tom's library isn't going to go anywhere soon. But the average consumer is going to start purchasing ebooks, and that's a good thing for everyone; it's better for the environment, more profitable for the producer, and cheaper for the consumer.

And I'm not a hardcore ebook reader. As soon as I got home for the break, I dropped my Sony for my hard copies of the books. But ebooks are definitely the way to go, especially for people on the go.
