I would say "short" form but often the nicknames are longer than the original name.

Yuri > Yura, Yurochka (like George to Georgie, literally, as Yuri is a form of George)
Nadezhda > Nadia, Naden'ka
Alexander > Sasha, Sashen'ka, Shura, Shurik
Alexandra > (same short names as Alexander)
Anastasia > Nastia, Nasten'ka
Boris > Borya
Dmitry > Mitya, Dima
Maria > Masha, Marusya
Mikhail > Misha
Nikolai > Nika, Kolya
Vladimir > Vova, Vovan, Volodya
