I am uncertain if she is working full time. cmdjing Send a noteboard - 31/05/2010 12:57:29 AM
At 22$ an hour, her total pre-tax earnings would be approximately 45,000 per year. Which is respectable for her at 26 and more than me :(. Her monthly income after tax would seem to indicate that she is being taxed 40% of her income which would make sense only if she were also contributing some of her income to a 401K and/or health insurance plan. The problem is that if she were to move out of expensive San Francisco, she would likely see a commensurate decrease in her earnings. San Francisco's per capita income is already more than 75% greater than California's as a whole which is itself one of the more prosperous states.

Actually come to think of it. Factoring in the different living expenses (suburban Florida vs San Francisco) I'm probably better off than she is. Having 60K in savings rather than -100K in debt makes me look less like a penniless schmuck.
