That's precisely why I responded on that point; what you said was, "despite problems elsewhere, the central issue is the drivers" and unless you meant "drivers" to include "cyclists" (despite using each word in a separate context) I strongly disagree. There are tons of stupid drivers on the road; part of why I smoke so much is because if I didn't have a stress reliever while driving I'd probably kill one of the SOBs. However, there are also plenty of stupid cyclists, motor and otherwise, just as there are plenty of stupid peds. A large part of the problem with traffic generally is that many people in EACH group thinks the others are solely to blame. Some drivers think cyclists belong on the sidewalk (even though the opposite is almost always the case) some cyclists thing they should be able to use anything paved (a lot of them seem to consider themselves "hybrids" with full rights to both streets and sidewalks, though that's actually more true of peds) and a lot of peds seem to think "you're at fault" translates to "I'm indestructible. "

So, yes, I agree, the central issue is idiots generally, so when you stated idiotic DRIVERS were, I had to disagree.
