So, you're saying muslims should leave nyc to show their sensitivity, right?

Have you ever noticed that someone who has been hurt by something is ultra sensitive to anything close to which caused them pain? It would be much akin to a family having a child drown in the pool in their back yard due to the direct action of their neighbor. Due to the grief, they move to a new town...to a new home with no pool. Over time, say 8 years or so, they get to know their neighbors, and tell them their story (including past grief).
A year after telling the neighbors their story, the neighbors decide to build a pool in their back yard. Yes, the neighbors are within their rights to build a pool. It wasn't their fault that those other people caused the death of the child.
This action obviously brings up memories of loosing their child. Sure, the pool isn't in their back yard, but its close and its being built with the full knowledge of their past grief. There is a willfull bulding of it anyways with a "we are within our rights, and we don't care about your grief."
Now magnify those same feelings 1000 fold. The original incident caused a fundamental shift in the way that America thinks. That original incident triggered a war, and the ramifications of that incident are reflected in the events of American life every day. People are, understandably, sensitive. Do those individuals have a right to build their "pool"? They certainly do, but their lack of sensitivity to the siutation is what I think is getting people all upset.
