The organizers, the real estate development board, the financial backers, NO ONE saw this coming?!!! It's difficult for me to imagine the thought process here.

Y'know, it seems like Islam has been taking a lot of heat in the US the last few years, for SOME obscure reason; maybe I should build a mosque/community center to help repair relations. I just hope I don't ignorantly choose a site that has some kind of negative connotation in that dialogue....

I stand by earlier statement: Somewhere in downtown Manhattan there's a group of community organizers and, apparently, some real estate developers, in desperate need of a keeper.
