If people don't see their need for Jesus as savior, we're doing it wrong.

For that to be done, sin cannot be sugar coated. That's what I see more of these days, honestly. Lots of feel-good, warm fuzzy, easy-believism. Don't like hearing that the Bible says <x habit/lifestyle/etc> is a sin? Fuhgeddabowdit. Join our religious social club and hang out with the nice people. Enjoy our nice building. Give some money to the poor and feel better. Stuff like that.
The ministries I'm diggin' the most right now are those of Francis Chan, John Piper and Mark Driscoll. They're examples of ministries engaging the culture and using modern media, while not backpedaling on issues of sin, Christ's supremacy or scriptural authority.

The sword might be grateful to the forge fire, but never fond of it.

The word used for "sin" in the New Testament is ἁμαρτία, which means "to miss the mark."
