I know people say I worry over nothing, but China wants to be the dominant world power, is in the position to accomplish it and has legitimate major grievances with the West (regardless of geography it seems to me that the Aussies and Kiwis are "Westerners" in every sense that matters here. ) Not to mention their human rights policy hasn't changed since Mao. China's a long way off; their navy sailed a lot farther when sails were the only way to do it, and they're working overtime to build a modern navy now. In fact, I was just reading an article about their dust up with Japan that says China just announced it's cutting the military budget to a little over 7%, the first time in a decade it's dropped below double digits (and the author claimed the number publicly announced is BS anyway. )
