But I digress. I think that if you call yourself Anya then people will be less likely to say "Anna" with the first "a" like the "a" in "cat".


Anna is my official full name! It's on all my documents, work id's, etc. How can I introduce myself to strangers (by definition, we introduce ourselves to strangers) with a dimunitive? It doesn't feel right. Can you say, "Hi I'm Tomik, nice to meet you"?
