Just Magdalene, sorry, and she only counts if you're a Gnostic or Neo-Gnostic. Joel Send a noteboard - 27/03/2011 03:23:58 AM
Since the Gnostics have been dead for ~1800 years and most Neo-Gnostics are devotees of Dan Brown and/or David Icke, I pray you are neither. :dead:

The whole "I want twelve unique names" is probably doomed to failure, incidentally. Expecting twelve men chosen from any fairly large culture to all have different names is probably asking too much, and in addition to James:

"Peter"s given name was Simon, with "Peter" being a new game given him by Jesus after averring the Rock on which the Church and salvation are founded

Jude is sometimes called "Judas" and

A second Matthew was chosen to replace Judas Iscariot after the latters suicide.

The acknowledgement of Paul highlights the real problem though: It's not strictly accurate to speak of "the Twelve Disciples" OR "Twelve Apostles" because there were far more than twelve of each (and in the opinion of many, still are). It's more accurate (if less common and less convenient for comedy) to speak of the twelve foremost disciples/apostles, though Paul once again illustrates that's not a perfectly accurate statement either (I'd wager a lot more people have heard of Paul than either Philip or Bartholomew).
